Syed Alovuddin mausoleum - Khorezm crafts exhibition

The Khorezm historical-revolutionary museum was established on April 27, 1920, based on the decision of the People's Republic of Khorezm, in the Old Ark, the palace of the Khans of Khiva.

On November 3, 1967, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan established the Khiva Historical-Architectural Museum-Reserve, and on June 29, 1969, based on the decision of the Council of Ministers of Uzbekistan, Khiva "Ichan-Kala" State Historical-Architectural Museum was established. "Reservoir" was established.

The history of Khorezm from ancient times to the present day, as well as its practical art, crafts, culture and literary life, are covered in the exhibitions of the museum-reserve. The total area is 26 hectares.

Khiva is an open-air museum. The old part of the city is surrounded by 2250-meter-long fortress walls 6-7 meters high, with 4 gates. There are 53 historical and architectural objects inside the castle.

On December 12, 1990, the city of Khiva was one of the first cities in Central Asia to be included in the UNESCO list of world cultural monuments as the 100th city. The museum has 15 permanent exhibitions. The museum fund has 38,561 unique exhibits. 187 employees work in the museum.
