Silver bowl. 5th century. Punjab. British museum. London
"The Chilek silver bowl finds a close analogy in the silver bowl of the British Museum, originating from Punjab...Both vessels undoubtedly belong to the same school and can be attributed to the same epoch. In the middle of the bottom on both bowls there is a medallion with a chest image of a man. On the bowl of the British Museum around the medallion there is a belt of ornament with three fantastic birds, in turn surrounded by a strip with four scenes of horse hunting for lions, tigers, wild boars and wild sheep. An ornamental border runs along the edge of both bowls. The portraits in the center of the bowl are similar to the portraits on the Ephthalite coins and seals. The similarity is so great that it allows us to attribute both bowls to the same environment and to the same era."
